Africa has a population of 884 million yet there are only 4 million internet users on the entire continent, also Only 9.2 per 1,000 people own a computer. this is the equivalent to two people on two boeing 747-400 that have own a computer. also there are only 32 fixed telephone lines or mobile phones per 1,000 people, this means that each fixed phone line has to be used by 31 people.

Here we have a graph which shows that more economically developed countries such as USA have more PCs than less economically developed countires such as Ghana. USA have 584.82 thousand more PCs than Ghana do. This gives an example of the digital divide.
