Education
Before technology, education was simply a teacher writing paragraphs on a blackboard with chalk and a student simply copying the paragraphs. on the left is a picture of a blackboard and chalk. This process was very time consuming and boring for both the student and the teacher

Education has been improved by technology. Technology has made possible websites like Wikipedia and search engines like Google which increases the knowledge of students, there are over 12 billion searches preformed on Google each month. It helps them gather information for projects and assays and helps answer a simple question like 'how long does a hamster live'? However education has made the casual debate about something disappear because the answer to everything is available in your smart phone on Google. A smartphone is a phone which can carry out almost all the functions a computer can and also has software functions e.g. E-mail or an internet browser.
Also people are learning less because there is easy access to information on the internet. A recent study proves this, "I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots"- Albert Einstein. Technology has definitely improved education; there are websites available where you can download free e-books about the topics you are studying. Technology has caused a change in the classroom and teaching methods. Teachers use different ways to teach education by using interactive white boards ( http://www.computerlandeasttexas.com/benefits-of-technology-classroom.php ) , presentations, videos etc but before technology they simply used a black board and chalk which must have been very boring for the students. Interactive whiteboards are large touch sensitive boards which is connected to a computer and a digital projector. |
