Description
Facebook is a very popular free social networking website that allows registered users to create profiles/timelines (a profile is a personalized page which contains the users interests and their statuses), upload photos and videos, send messages and keep in touch with friends, family and colleagues. Each Facebook account has a profile. This profile is also known as a "wall" or a "timeline". Friends can post comments, videos and photos on your "wall". It's best not to comment personal information because it's viewable by all their friends. You can send a private message which is similar to an email message. There are privacy settings which you can personalize your self. The default settings of Facebook are that if someone tries to look at your profile and they aren't friends with you they cannot access any of your information. You can also change the settings to not let certain friends view your profile. On Facebook you can add applications to your account such as SuperPoke. SuperPoke extends Facebook’s "poke" function (the poke function is basically an application which allows you to poke some one virtually). Other applications are things like weather forecast. Also there are loads of video games such as candy crush (in 2012 candy crush had over 10 million downloads) and Tetris which can be played in your Facebook account. The majority of the applications and games save your high score so that you can compete against your friends and other Facebook users. Facebook is an easy way of keeping track of what your friends are up to. http://www.techterms.com/definition/facebook |
